Krakatoa, also known as Krakatau, is a volcano located in the Sunda Strait right between Sumatra and Java islands. Sebesi is an Indonesian island located between Java Island and Sumatra Island in the Sunda Strait, and also part of the Lampung province. It rises to an elevation of 844 metres and is located approximately 12 kilometres north from the Krakatoa Archipelago. It is also the nearest major island to Krakatoa, with a similar height and area to the Rakata remnant. It is volcanic, just like the Krakatoa, but there is no documented eruption. Sebesi contains constant streams and is populated, unlike the Krakatoa Archipelago.
