5 most romantic things to do in Koh Samui with your soulmate - Experience the magic of the island!

The island is truly spectacular, and what better place to bond with your loved one or best mate than in Koh Samui.

1

Visit the temples

Any trip to Thailand or its islands won't be complete without visiting the beautiful temples. Thailand is a spiritual place, and the islands are no different. The Big Buddha is the most well-known in Koh Samui. Next, you can go to Wat Phra Yai. Both temples are located in Bophut. Wat Plai Laem is a massive temple with large premises, walk around and discover the history of the temple, and get to know the teachings of the Buddha.
There is quite a few 5 Star Resort in Koh Samui so don't worry about finding accommodation, and this area is generally a great place to stay. You can find many nice resorts, such as Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, around this region of Bophut and its surroundings.

2

Discover the Na Mung Waterfalls

These waterfalls are approximately an hour away from the Big Buddha temple. You won't find any public transport to visit the waterfalls, so you may have to arrange a taxi or hire a scooter for the journey. The ideal time to visit is between September to November, which is during the rainy season. Na Mung 1 has a gorgeous natural pool that you can swim, however, it can get crowded as it is the most popular of the two waterfalls. If you want some seclusion, walk uphill for another 30 minutes to encounter Na Mung 2. These waterfalls are an excellent place to relax away in the afternoon.

3

Street food

To discover the flavours of Koh Samui, head on a street food tour. It is the best way to sample a range of delicious Thai cuisine. If you don't want a guided tour, you can do this yourself. Make sure to sample some of the best dishes, such as papaya salad (Tom Sam), Pad Thai, Yellow chicken rice (Khao Mok Kai), satay, noodle soup (Gwoy Tiao) and rice or noodles with green/red /yellow curry. As for dessert, sample the famous mango sticky rice!

4

Visit the islands

Experience the Ang Thong National Marine Park. It is a group of 42 islands that showcases spectacular limestone mountains and rock monoliths. The spotless beaches will seem like they sprung to life from a postcard! These islands are home to a wide variety of endangered animals. You can opt for a guided tour to discover the park at length. Water sports are also popular here. Spend the afternoon diving, snorkelling, kayaking, or just hiking across the amazing trails together. A full-day tour will usually include elements of all these things. So, it is highly recommended if you want to experience everything within a short time.

5

Head to Lipa Noi Beach

Visit the lovely Lipa Noi Beach, or Nikki Beach Samui or even both. Both locations are popular among travellers. Both beaches have a very active social scene and the place for a spectacular sunset watch together. Afterwards, have a romantic beachside dinner and drinks overlooking the beautiful ocean. You may even find a few clubs if you want to dance the night away in Koh Samui.
