The Utah boating season is coming to a close. It is now time to start winterizing your boat to keep it protected for the winter. Fill your fuel tank and add a fuel stabilizer. Also, change the fuel filter and water separator. This will help your boat avoid any build up of condensation over the long Utah winter months. It is also a good idea to clean and dry the bilges. Spray them with moisture displacing lubricant and antifreeze to prevent water from freezing.
Remove any electronics or valuable items from the boat. Also remove the fire extinguisher to have it cleaned, checked, and replaced if needed. Move the boat cushions up to allow a circulation of air or bring them home with you to store in a climate-controlled area. To keep the boat mildew free, install a dehumidifier or an odor and moisture absorber.
