Having someone that is in the same situation as you will help you cope with the stress of all you are faced with as a Utah college student with a family of your own.
Children are not always accepting of the fact that mom or dad has to write another essay or work on a project late into the night. It may benefit you and your children to bring them on campus some time to show them what it is you do at school. Pack a lunch and have a picnic on campus or just give them a little tour. Keep in mind that some Utah colleges do not offer childcare, so don’t leave your children unattended.
While attending college in Utah, you will have to balance out your schedule to allow enough time for studying, family time, and even some alone time. Your time doing each thing will be limited. The best thing you can do is be prepared. Set out clothes for the next day, have set times for studying, or have older kids help out. Consider getting your kids into a regular after school schedule so that each member of the family knows what they should be doing.
