List of Amazing Adventures in Koh Samui – A spectacular island getaway

Thailand's largest island, Koh Samui, is a delightful blend of fun and excitement. Swimming, snorkelling, diving and lounging on the beach are some of the things the island is famous for.

1

Koh Samui Beaches

The beaches in Koh Samui offer serenity and variety in equal measure. Chaweng Beach, for instance, is among the most developed beaches on the island and can always be found on the list of things to do in Samui. If you like a less touristy spot, you should head to Laem Singh Beach, located on the southern side of the island; the unique rock formations are the main feature of the beach. Koh Samui beaches are also lined with resorts like Avani+ Samui Resort, so finding suitable accommodation close to the beach is never an issue.

2

Visit Koh Phangan

One of the sister islands of Samui, Koh Phangan has a fantastic mix of attractions. This is a popular day trip from Koh Samui; taking a boat to this amazing piece of land is one of the best things to do in Thailand. Compared to Koh Samui beaches, Koh Phangan beaches are more rugged, and they are backed by jungle-clad mountains. The west and south coasts are being transformed into tourist hubs, but the rest of the island is still steeped in authenticity.

3

Ang Thong National Marine Park

If your time is restricted to doing one thing, you should visit Ang Thong National Marine Park. Both Koh Phangan and Ko Samui belong to this archipelago consisting of 42 islands. There are many tour operators that offer tour packages; tourists can also get their hotel or resort to arrange a tour for them; a boat tour will allow you the chance to snorkel and dive along the way. The park also offers accommodation, but reservations need to be made in advance. Those planning to return to Koh Samui in the evening should time their visit properly.

4

Diving and snorkelling

Thailand is a known water-sports destination. Diving and snorkelling are the most popular water sports in Samui. The spectacular marine life of the island makes diving and snorkelling an amazing experience. If you haven't tried these aquatic adventures before, the islands offer you the chance to learn; you can also get a certificate – most travellers visit Thailand to get the certification as the classes here are relatively less expensive.

5

Visit Sail Rock

For a bit of advanced diving, head to Sail Rock. Wedged between Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, Sail Rock is an amazing spot with thriving marine life; the massive limestone rock is the main feature. This site is considered to be one of the best for swimming, diving and snorkelling; the repute has to do with the range of exotic fish found here; moray eels, snapper and batfish are frequent encounters at Sail Rock.

6

The Secret Buddha Garden

Sitting at the top of a tall mountain, the secret Buddha Garden is among the must-see places in Thailand. The sculpture garden is the creation of Khun Nim, a farmer who dedicated 14 years of his life to creating the garden. The garden was a respite for travelling monks; you will see small huts sheltered in vegetation. The garden is packed with a variety of artworks, including fountains, enclaves and sculptures.

7

Kayaking in Koh Taen

Located just five kilometres away from Koh Samui, Koh Taen is one of the best spots for kayaking; the island can only be accessed by boat. Koh Taen is studded with a variety of natural attractions, including coral reefs, biking trails and mangrove forests, but only a few tourists take the trouble to visit the island.
