List of things to keep in mind when packing for a beach getaway – It’s time to get packing!

A beach holiday is all fun and games until you realize you've forgotten your favourite bikini or your sunglasses behind. In order to avoid such a disaster, it's best to pack your things in advance so that you have everything with you.

1

A beach bag

Firstly, you need to pack yourself a bag that you can take with you to the beach. Something that is bright and eye-catching is ideal, so that you don't lose it and can spot it from afar. Make sure this bag has inside pockets, is waterproof, and you'll be able to store valuables and small electronics such as your mobile phone! One easy way to carry food and drinks is to get a soft-sided tote, instead of carrying a bulky cooler. Disposable wipes and reusable plastic bags will undoubtedly come in handy when you're at the beach! If you pick one of the many hotels in Gold Coast Qld, the likes of Oaks Gold Coast Hotel you'll be within close vicinity to your room so carrying everything with you is not necessary.

2

Swimwear

No beach vacation is complete without a swimsuit or two! It's important that you buy more than one so there's always something to wear if the other swimsuit is wet and take the both of them with you at all times to the beach. Don't forget a cute cardigan or wrap for when you're walking around or playing some beach sports!

3

Footwear

Your choice of footwear to the beach is more important than what one would think, so it is essential that you pick the right one such as water shoes, flip-flops, or sandals. The easiest to wear would be flip flops but you can decide on that depending on the type of beach you're going to!

4

Sun protection

While basking in the sun is a great feeling, you need to remember that the sun is not always your friend! Make sure you load up on sun protection and with a strong sunscreen that you must remember to reapply every half hour to one hour. Along with this, add an SPF lip balm, wear sunglasses, and a hat! You will also need to check the environmental regulations at your beach destination beforehand as some places ban harmful coral damaging chemical sunscreens, instead, shop reef-safe sunscreens!

5

Towels and sheets

Another vital item to pack with you is towels, and make sure these are towels that you can carry with you in your beach bag so that they aren't too big or too small. If you plan on having a beach picnic or just lying down on the beach, a sheet or picnic sheet would be useful to keep on the beach floor. If you forget these, there's likely going to be tiny stalls around the beach to purchase these items from in a time of need but it is always better to be safe than sorry!
