Parramatta Park

Looking to take some time off for a nice stroll and get away from your hotel in Parramatta, Sydney? The Parramatta Park is the most ideal location, and is one of the oldest parts in the world. The 85 hectare park is a great spot to enjoy a number of activities such as walking, cycling, jogging and even to have a simple picnic with your family and friends. The park also boasts two playgrounds, a rose garden and numerous events are also hosted here. You are most likely to spend a couple of hours here enjoying the greenery and the views.

Old Government House

A must visit during your time in the city, the Old Government House is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This building is the oldest surviving public building in the entirety of Australia and is also one of the eleven Australian Convict Sites. The building played a prominent role during the convict era and was the residence of the first ten Governors of New South Wales. This building is located in the heart of Parramatta Park and is open to the public as a museum, ideal for those who are keen to learn about Australia's history.

Lake Parramatta Reserve

Just two kilometres from the CBD, you'll find the Lake Parramatta Reserve which consists of beautiful bushlands and parkland reserve in Western Sydney. The Lake reserve spans an area of 70 hectares and is a great spot for a number of things such as swimming, a family BBQ and even a stroll! Don't forget your camera as the area is extremely scenic and perfect for photographs.
