Top Activities in Tianjin – Don’t miss out!

Tianjin is an exciting metropolis located in northeastern China, and is also one of the five national central cities. The city has plenty to offer, read on to find out what you should not miss out on!

Great Wall

No trip to China is complete without stopping to witness the magnificent Great Wall and in Tianjin, you can see this at Huangya Pass. This section of the Wall is quiet and isolated along the East Mountain and the best part, it isn't usually as crowded as the sections located in Beijing. You will witness 66 towers and 14 watchtowers in the area and was one an important military stronghold with an altitude of 738 meters. There is a special section known as the "Music Wall" and when you step on it, it makes an interesting sound like playing the piano. Don't forget your camera as the views during sunset are truly mesmerizing!

Ferris Wheel

The Eye of Tianjin is the only Ferris wheel in the entire world that is built on a bridge. You can enjoy a 360 degree view of Tianjin for a 30-minute ride and take some great pictures! The Ferris wheel has a diameter of 110 meters and when you get to the top, you're almost 120 meters from the bottom and you can enjoy a view that stretches up to 40 kilometres! The Ferris wheel looks still from a distance but is actually moving very slowly.

Five Great Avenues

If you are flying into Tianjin from Pan Pacific Xiamen or any of the other Xiamen hotels, it takes a little over 2 hours. Don't forget to add Five Great Avenues into your itinerary list when you are in Tianjin, which is a lovely European style area that is influenced highly by Western culture. The area consists of five streets, each name after a different city in China, namely Chengdu, Changqing, Changde, Dali and Munan. The architecture in this area is awe-inspiring, and as you walk through the streets you are likely to feel yourself being transported back in time! This spot is ideal for a stroll or just for exploring. If you want you can also ride on a horse driven carriage for the full experience! Tianjin Folklore Museum

This museum boasts up to around 2000 folk items and is a part of the Tianhou Palace, where people go to pray for blessings. You can see the development of the different aspects of daily life, trade, arts, clothes, water transportation, fishing and the salt trade.

There's nothing more enjoyable than tasting the local cuisine, and this is something you mustn't miss when you are out in Tianjin! You can go to Nanshi Food Street and enjoy the local snacks such as Goubuli stuffed buns, the Erduoyan Fried cake and much more! You're in for an exciting gastronomic experience.
