A couple of miles below the American Falls, the river changes course forming a whirlpool. These rapids are some of the world's most dangerous, with 100,00 cubic feet of water moving through the very narrow Whirlpool Gorge each second! Visitors can hike down a series of paths to observe what once used to be the Great Gorge Railway. A more enjoyable way to view the whirlpool is the Whitewater Walk, which is also wheelchair accessible. However, you need to first visit Canada's Niagara Park in Ontario!
