A List of Attractions that You Should Not Miss During Your Next Visit to Central Coast of Australia

As one of Australia's most dynamic regions, the Central Coast is home to some of the country's most popular attractions and activity bases. Here are some of the not-to-miss highlights to discover on your next vacation on the central coast.

1

Pelican Plaza

Named the Pelican Capital of Australia, no trip to the Central Coast would be complete without spending a few hours at the Pelican Plaza. Not only can one take part in the daily Pelican feeding sessions accessible to visitors but also tour the confines of this breathtaking enclave dedicated to the conservation of this majestic sea bird. The waterfront Memorial Plaza is the most coveted area of the sanctuary as this is where the feeding sessions take place although those who wish to simply observe the birds filling their gullets with smaller fish can also simply watch from a distance and marvel at just how much one bird can stomach.

2

Australian Reptile Park

The mammoth concrete dinosaur leading to the Australian Reptile Park is hard to miss when driving down to the Central Coast from the city of Sydney. And the inhabitants of this sprawling park are no less ferocious than their inanimate counterparts. While there are a great many creepy crawlies occupying the venue, most visitors drop by to catch a glimpse of the giant Galapagos tortoise called Hugo and the saltwater crocodile ominously nicknamed 'Elvis the Bone Crusher' who measures in at 5 metres. The latter hit the headlines for consuming a lawnmower back in 2011 while the former is just as impressive as its gardening-gear-guzzling companion.

3

The Skillion

Occupying pride of place in Terrigal, arguably the finest holiday hotspot on the Central Coast, The Skillion is no ordinary promontory. This grass laden cliff, which looks out over the Pacific Ocean, is not only one of the best-known landmarks on the Central Coast but also one of its favourite observation points. Those who make the trip up to The Skillion should also venture down to the beach below to enjoy a snack at the oceanfront bars, cafes, and restaurants or to simply relax in the shade of the Norfolk Island pine trees.

4

Bouddi Coastal Walk

Stretching along 8km, the Bouddi Coastal Walk offers trekkers and avid strollers the chance to explore the Central Coastline's rugged landscapes, cliff tops, and lush rainforests in one breathtaking experience. With stunning ocean vistas at every turn, the Bouddi Coastal Walk also serves as a venue to catch sight of migrating whales when they travel along the country's eastern shores every winter. Those based at Oaks The Entrance Waterfront Suites and other similar Central Coast resorts in the area will find the walk is the perfect way to explore their surroundings.

5

Six String Brewing Company

Every traveller must stop by the first-ever fully home-grown microbrewery on the Central Coast aptly named The Six Strings Brewery. Head straight to the Erina tasting room and sample the mouth-watering varieties of tipple available via 12 taps and wine and dine at the adjacent Cajun restaurant that's also part of the brewery grounds.
