Key Things to Know Before Visiting Vietnam – Places to Visit and Things to Do

Considering making a trip to Vietnam? There are many cities and attractions that you can enjoy while you're holidaying in the country. Read on to find out what they are!

1

Spend some Time in Quy Nhon

Located in the central part of the country, Quy Nhon is one of the popular tourist towns in the country. It's located on the coast and therefore offers plenty of seaside fun for visitors. As a result, there are also a lot of resorts in the region that you can stay and unwind at. For example, book a stay at a resort such as Anantara Quy Nhon Villas and wake up to ocean views from the comfort of your Quy Nhon private pool villa. While there are many such resorts that offer views of the beach, to enjoy the ultimate luxury, choose a resort that offers villas or residences that come with their own plunge pool facing the beach. There's nothing like being able to alternate between the sea and a private pool. It's also great if you have kids since they can enjoy the safety of the pool and while still enjoying the sand and feeling close to the ocean.

Add the City of Hoi An to your Itinerary

Hoi An is another famed tourist town in Vietnam. It is also a coastal town like Quy Nhon, and so is known for its beaches and related activities. However, it is also of historical importance, since the city played an important role in the trading hub of the region in centuries past. As a result, part of the city, the older part of it, has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There's also a museum that you can visit there to better understand how the city has evolved over time. In addition to this, if you like pottery, you can pay a visit to the Thanh Ha Pottery Village in Hoi An. There, you can take a look at old pottery works as well as sign yourself up for some pottery classes as well, if you're into that sort of thing.

Check out Mui Ne

Spend some time in Mui Ne, which also a coastal city that's popular with tourists. Here you will find a range of unusual attractions such as red and white sand dunes, as well as a natural attraction called the Fairy Stream, which resembles the Grand Canyon in many ways (but on a much smaller scale). There's also a fishing village here that's popular with tourists who want to understand the life of the villagers who live on the coast, and sample fresh seafood caught from the sea.

4

Ho Chi Minh City

If you're interested in more modern history, visit Ho Chi Minh City, which was named after Ho Chi Minh, who is known as the Father of the Nation. It's located in the south of the country and was formerly known as Saigon. It happens to be the biggest city in the country and an important economic hub.

It's Where You Handle Dongs Instead of Dollars

One US dollar equals to 22,931 Vietnamese Dong (at the time of writing the article). And yes, you read it right! You might feel like an instant millionaire once you exchange your Dollars to Dongs at an airport or even at a bank in Vietnam!
