The Most Scenic Spots in Beijing – Holiday for Spectacular Sights

Are you planning to travel around Beijing? But still not rounded up the places that you'd love to visit there? Not to worry – this guide gives you the most scenic spots in Beijing, that you can discover during your visit to China!

1

Forbidden City

Possibly the biggest attraction in Beijing is the magnificent Forbidden City. Located within a 24-minute driving distance from serviced apartments such as Ascott Riverside Garden Beijing, it isn't incorrect to say that it's the most photogenic location around here. Also known as the Imperial Palace, it is found right amid the centre of the Chinese capital. It features elaborate halls, beautiful courtyards, and colourful gates. The best view has to be from outside of this attraction when one chooses to gaze across the moat towards the north gate and turrets.

2

Beijing Olympic Park

Beijing Olympic Park was built on the northern edge of the Chinese capital to celebrate the 2008 Olympic Games. This park houses two eye-candy landmarks. One of these is its National Stadium, which is affectionately known as the Bird's Nest. The inspiration behind its design is traditional Chinese ceramics. The National Aquatics Centre is the other one. It is also known as the Water Cube. The design of this stunning construction was the result of a team effort. The team has comprised of Chinese and Sydney-based partners; the former has felt that the square shape symbolises the Chinese culture while the latter had come up with the idea of covering the façade with bubbles, symbolising water.

3

The Lama Temple

The Lama Temple has to be the most breathtakingly beautiful religious monument in Beijing. It is also the most popular Buddhist temple that is found outside Tibet. Also known as the Yonghe Temple, the architectural styles of this temple stem from Tibetan and Han Chinese styles. This is a major crowd-puller that you simply must visit during your stay at one of the Beijing serviced apartments. The main highlights of the Lama Temple include its decorative roofs and massive statues of Buddha.

4

Jingshan Park

Covering a massive area of 23 hectares north of the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park is a man-made attraction that offers the best views in Beijing. This park has been built using the leftover rubble from the construction of the Forbidden City. It provides the ideal platform to admire the sweeping views of the Chinese capital. Jingshan, which can be translated as "Prospect Hill", was previously a private imperial garden that was part of the grounds belonging to the Forbidden City.

5

Beihai Park

Beihai Park is an age-old park that is located toward the northwest corner of the Forbidden City. It is recognisable due to the massive white pagoda on the hilltop, which juts out of its surroundings, overlooking the other attractions in the area. When you explore Beihai Park, which is also known as the "Winter Palace", you will notice the incredible architecture that imitates the landmarks from around the country.
