I have been receiving several emails asking me to include Android apps in the app lists I curate here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning. I have started a section devoted solely to Android apps but I was not able to keep up posting in it as frequently as is the case with iPad apps.
Mit App Inventor is a Google supported platform where you can get to create awesome apps using just drag and drop. It enables you to customize the look and feel of your apps, add buttons, attach objects and many more. To start using App Inventor you need to have a Google account.
Google Play Books is a must have reading app for Android fans. I have it installed on my Galaxy S4 and I really enjoy reading on it. Google Play Books provides you with a treasure trove of free public domain books and allows you to choose from millions of titles on Google Play including new releases, New York Times best sellers, up-and-coming authors, and free books.
Kids learn better when they are engaged, I don't think I need to cite any research here for you to know this fact. Engagement equals learning and anything that gets learners motivated about the task under consideration is likely to elicit more engagement and therefore learning takes place.
