Have you heard about the famous international tea brand, Lipton Tea? The owner of this tea brand is Thomas Lipton and this place is named after him as a token of tribute. When he came to Sri Lanka in the late 1800s, he bought a bungalow that sat 2000 metres above sea level particularly to view all his plantations and how things were being done. What you see as the Lipton Seat today is where his bungalow was back then.
Once you finish exploring this place, you may also head to the Dambatenne Tea Factory, which is located just 7 kilometres away from the Lipton Seat.
