Must try drinks in Ho Chi Minh City - Your ultimate guide!

Are you travelling to Vietnam this vacation? Then make sure you do not miss out on the popular drinks! From fruit smoothies, fresh coconuts to sugar cane juice, here is a list of the drinks you should try while you're there.

1

Fresh Coconuts

Coconut water might only have just appeared on the supermarket shelves, but it has long been a very popular drink among the Vietnamese. You will not be able to find canned coconut water in Vietnam; instead, it's sipped directly from the coconut, which will be sweeter, healthier and more fully flavored. The smaller coconuts are known to be sweeter than the bigger ones. You can also enjoy them when relaxing on the beaches. There will be many stereo vendors handing out coconuts with a star for you to relish in this heat! Also, if you're looking for one of the hotels in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh offers properties such as PARKROYAL Saigon.

2

Fruit Smoothies

Smoothies are abundant in Vietnam, and you are not just referring to strawberry or banana smoothies. The Vietnamese smoothies are most exotic, and they offer fresh dragon fruit, jackfruit, ice and condensed milk, yoghurt, custard apple, and so much more! Even the avocado smoothie and the soursop smoothies are incredibly delicious! When in Vietnam, you will have plenty to choose from!

3

Herbal Teas

On hot days, this sweet local herbal tea is best served over some ice. According to traditional medicine, sugar cane, grassroots, nettle leaves, and corn silk are all used in even the most basic preparation, which demonstrates the Vietnamese intolerance to discarding anything that has value. Dried longan, the sawtooth herb flowers, and water chestnuts are all possible additions to this drink.

4

Sugar Cane Juice

Sugar cane juice is also another "cooling" drink that isn't as terribly sweet as you might anticipate. It's mainly offered by street vendors that use electrical squashing devices to wring the sweet juice from the sugar cane stalks. This is then mixed with the calamansi juice, which is a little sour citrus fruit that has a mandarin-like aroma. On a hot day, the end product has a sharp grassy flavour that is incredibly refreshing. A container of cane sugar stalks next to their stand is how the sugar cane vendors publicly advertise their products.

5

Artichoke Tea

Tràatisô is the drink of choice for hungover Vietnamese people. It is thought to offer liver-cleansing as well as detoxifying effects. The sweet version made out of the artichoke flowers and the highly bitter black version created from artichoke stems are the two variations of the tea that are generally served with ice. It is recommended to stay away from the black tea and instead opt for the sweeter version, that has a subtle nutty flavour.

6

Lime Soda

On a hot day, soda chanh is the most refreshing drink you can opt for – it is a fizzy homemade lemonade. You'll be given an ice-filled glass with lime juice and sugar juice at the bottom, as well as a club soda, can on the side. Some places may offer you a glass of sugar and ice, as well as a little plate of lime wedges, to squeeze your very own juice. As such, this soda is usually served half prepared!
