Best Things to Do in Abu Dhabi – Places to explore

A metropolis filled with fancy buildings and luxury hotels...is that all you make of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE? Well, this is quite true, but there is still more than meets the eye here. Here is a list of fun activities you ought to experience when you holiday here.

1

The Cornish

Located by the cerulean waters, this is a 5-mile-long waterfront promenade for a peaceful stroll. Locals and tourists alike head over here by sunset. You can opt to take a seat with your loved one and people watch or even have a picnic. If you are in the mood to walk about, then keep your eyes peeled for interesting displays of art along the way. On the greenery, you'll find several play areas for the kids to have some fun as well. You can head over to the beach as well and wet your feet while watching the sun sink into the ocean.

2

Umm Al Emarat Park

This is where nature and man-made beauty come into play in the city. The park is a well-designed nature trove with a man-made fountain and rows and rows of serene palm trees. Within the complex of the park are several mini attractions. A playground, an animal barn, the amphitheatre and the Wisdom Garden are the highlights to look out for. Of all these, the Wisdom Garden is the most beautiful part of the park with well-groomed vegetation and neat slabs of marble with quotes from the late Sheik Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

3

Seawings Seaplane Tours

There are many ways to observe the beauty of this middle eastern city and one of them is from above! Seawings is the only agent offering seaplane tours in this area and is available for a small private group booking or a private charter. The tour will include flying about 1500 feet above the city and its attractions and hotels like Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara. The pilots are pretty well versed with history and knowledge about the attractions below and will be very informative throughout the journey. Definitely a ride well worth your time and money!

4

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

It could be said that this is the grandest and the largest mosque in the world and was fully completed in 2007. The mosque can accommodate about 40,000 worshippers at a time into the giant space that is as large as four football fields. Its sheer size isn't the only thing that's unique about this mosque. When it comes down to architecture, you'll find that cultural attributes from across the globe have been fused into one here with reflective pools and a magnificent Swaroski chandelier! British, Emirati and Italian architects have brought in elements from Morocco, Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey to make unique work of art.

5

Yas Mall

Of all the malls in Abu Dhabi, Yas Mall is the largest one and is perfect to hang out in hot when the weather outside is scorching. You'll find a number of brands available for grabs, great restaurants and much more. It is within easy reach from resorts in Abu Dhabi.
