6 Reasons to Visit Koh Samui for Your Next Vacation – There is so much to be seen!

This is the third-largest in Thailand and is home to some of the most stunning places to unwind during a good summer break. With some stellar beaches and swathes of rainforest, there is so much to be explored and this little island offers people experiences for a lifetime.

1

Cannot forget about the beaches

It cannot be stated enough that the island of Koh Samui has some of the best beaches around. Many beach lovers flock to places such as Chaweng beach or the Casa De Mar resort for some prime sights.

2

Take in the Big Buddha

There are many amazing sights to be seen in Koh Samui, however, it would not have been on many peoples list to get the chance to visit a giant statue of the Buddha. The statue itself is over 12 metres tall and is painted in brilliant gold making it visible several kilometres away.
This statue is also located at the peak of a hill and the hike is well worth the view which is great at the top as well. If you are staying at a Koh Samui luxury resort such as the Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort then you will find yourself just a 10-minute drive away from this stunning sight.

3

The gorgeous Namuang Waterfalls

If there was any chance of the Koh Samui islands being any more fun, it would be with the addition of the stunning waterfalls that can be found in the jungles within.
For example, the Namuang Waterfalls is a stunning location that is a simple trek away and gives people some natural pools to splash around in as well.

4

Visit the Bophut Village

Found on the northern corners of Koh Samui, this small fishing village is home to what is considered the historical part of the island. This part of the island is still geared for travellers and visitors as it has in their area a night market, a couple of restaurants and other shops for basic needs and souvenirs.

5

Keep an eye out for the Central Festival

These festivals are always a treat for locals and foreigners alike. Those who crave shopping wherever they wander to, find themselves amongst a plethora of stores that have their favourite brands for sale on an island in the ocean.
This is a point of pride for many people and they certainly flock to take advantage of this special opportunity.

6

Enjoy the night markets

There is no better rule of thumb when it comes to understanding a new culture than by visiting their local night markets. This is where the heartbeat of the city is and brings together all the people who make this community run and thrive. This is where you can experience the flavour of local ingredients and see how a close-knitted community communicates and conducts its business.
These aspects about Koh Samui are exactly what makes this island so interesting and dynamic and it would be a real shame to miss out on.
