Best Sunset Locations in Hong Kong - One for the opacarophiles!

Hong Kong sunsets can be breathtaking at times. However, with so many high rise buildings and mountains circling the capital, finding a nice place to see the sunset can be difficult. So where should you head to? Read on to find out!

1

Braemar Hill (Red Incense Burner Summit)

There's an explanation why Braemar Hill is one of Hong Kong's finest sunset viewing sites. Located within easy access to Cosmo Hotel Wan Chai Hong Kong, this hill looks out over Hong Kong's breathtaking skyline and scenery. The sun either seems to sink behind the skyline or right into the bay, depending on the time of year. Braemar Hill is also one of the best locations for photographing the skyline. Being captivated by the beautiful skyline that you can see from this hill is a must-do activity while holidaying at your Hong Kong boutique hotel.

2

Brick Hill Pavilion

The hills on which Ocean Park is located is known as Nam Long Shan or Brick Hill. Although it's located in an unusual location, it is a fantastic place to see the sunrise as well as the sunset in Hong Kong. Thankfully, you don't have to hike all the way to the peak of Brick Hill to see the sunset. At the halfway mark, there is a pavilion with views of the sinking sun toward Lamma Island's chimneys as well as the windmills. Climb another 50-70 metres from the Brick Hill Pavilion and relax beside the boulders that overlook the Aberdeen Marina for much better views.

3

Mount High West

Mount High West, as the name suggests, has amazing views of the west. If you arrive just in time for sunset, you will be greeted with a golden projection of the sun's glazing rays on the sea. Mount High West is situated west of Victoria Peak in Lung Fu Shan Country Park. It, too, has spectacular views of Hong Kong's skyline, as does Victoria Peak. However, because of its position, it has a distinct advantage when it comes to the glorious views of the sunset.

4

Art Park

The newly formed West Kowloon Cultural District has rapidly established itself as one of Hong Kong's most famous hangout places. The district is still bustling with activity as a centre for architecture, music, and entertainment! The Art Park, situated along the West Kowloon Cultural District's promenade, is an open lawn where visitors can relax. Here, you can enjoy picnics, fly kites, pitch a tent, race, carry your dogs, and, of course, enjoy breathtaking sunset views! The waterfront Art Park offers spectacular views of Hong Kong Island and harbour.

5

Mount Johnston

Mount Johnson, also known as Yuk Kwai Shan, is the highest point in Ap Lei Chau. It is located on the southern parts of Hong Kong Island. The Mount Johnston Lighthouse on Ap Lei Pai is the end of this famous hiking trail. You don't have to hike all this way to the end to witness this sunset; the top of Mt Johnston would suffice.
