Top things to explore in Seattle – The best places in the city

Seattle was discovered in the late 19th century, still, there are only a few historic buildings that stand today. Instead, Seattle is more of a modern metropolis today with massive skyscrapers and a bustling environment. Here are a few things you simply can't miss out on when in Seattle.

1

Seattle Great Wheel

The skyline of the city is absolutely beautiful and from where better to view it than on the Seattle Great Wheel situated by the central waterfront of DT Seattle? Hop into one of the gondolas and watch the horizon as the wheel begins to turn. The higher it goes the more beautiful it gets. You'll ger a total of 12 to 20 minutes on the wheel with a maximum of 3 rotations. This will give you enough time to snap away at the gorgeous vistas. Try your best to make it here by sunset or at nightfall for a magical experience.

2

Olympic Sculpture Park

Imagine a display of brilliant art in the outdoors...now that's what the Olympic Sculpture Park is all about! The entire park consists of beautiful paths that wind around about 20 works of art. There are benches if you wish to sit and enjoy the views and then there's a small strip of beach stretching towards the bay as well for you to enjoy.

3

Pike Place Market

This is one of America's oldest fresh produce markets that came up during the 1900s. Start exploring the place from 1st Avenue and enjoy the views of the beautiful bay. All the alleys are filled with fresh fruit shops and fresh vegetables. In case you end up a little hungry there are over 80 restaurants serving unique dishes to enjoy. Furthermore, you can also take part in a cooking class with a professional too.

4

Harbour Cruise

Hop on an open-topped boat and cruise over Eliot Bay while the guide informs you about the major attractions you will be passing by as you float over the water. You will also be able to learn a few historical facts about Puget Sound, the bay and DT Seattle itself.

5

Seattle Art Museum

There is so much to see in Seattle and the art museum is one of them. Down first Avenue is one of the most incredible structures that is a whopping 50 feet tall. This is a metal structure of a man at work. The piece of art has an automated arm that makes about 4 swings a minute with its hammer.
Inside the museum itself are a wonderful collection of art and historic items. You will be able to see ancient American art as well as Aboriginal art all the way from Australia. Visiting this attraction is a must for visitors and it's just a short distance away from popular Downtown Seattle hotels the likes of Pan Pacific Seattle.
