Ethical Use of Information - 6.20.21

A set of resources for grades 9-12 related to ethical use of information. The resources are intended to provide support to students as they begin creating their flipgrid, Canva, Adobe Spark video, etc. to present their findings on racially charged incidents from the past twenty years (2001-2021) that have occurred in the United States. Students will locate credible sources on google, paraphrase ideas, and cite the sources correctly. The following resources are tools students should reference to avoid plagiarisim.

Highlighting the most common types helps students to identify plagiarism in hope of them not repeating the same errors. Students should use this resource as a guide. The activities included on the website allow students to assess their understanding of plagiarisim, and learn how to properly cite sources in the different style guides. Students should use the activity to self assess understanding of concept, as well as use the style guide to properly cite sources.

The resource can be used an example of how to properly create a works cited page or credits page when creating a video.
