Top 05 Tips for Planning Your Maldives Holiday – for a memorable and hassle-free holiday

So, are you planning on travelling to one of the most luxurious destinations in the world? Maldives is an absolute delight, that's for sure! But if this is your first time visiting, here are some pointers to help you enjoy your holiday to the fullest.

1

Plan According to the Weather

You've selected your destination, but when would be the best time to gain the best experience Maldives has to offer? Well, you could say the peak season is from November to April when the weather is absolutely perfect all day long. It's gentle sunshine in the mornings but grows hotter during the day making it perfect for beach activities.
If you still need to save your wallet from a complete bashing, the best time to visit would be during shoulder season which falls between the off-season and the peak season. The off-season isn't too bad either, yes, there will be rain, but it won't spoil your day.

2

Study Local Laws

One thing to consider is the festival of Ramadan. This is a period of fasting for the locals which go on from sunrise to sunset. Staff will be less at hotels as they go home to be with family, however, resorts will be running. If you will be exploring the main island, remember to be dressed conservatively covering the chest, knees, shoulders, and elbows.
Within the resort, you are allowed to be dressed in what is comfortable for you. Alcohol is not allowed into the country, so do not pack any as it will be confiscated at the airport. But you can always enjoy your favourite wines and beers at the resort. You can also purchase alcohol from the Duty-Free on your way home.

3

Stay in a Water Villa Suite

Accommodation is one of the main features of a holiday in Maldives that draws in more and more visitors. Who wouldn't want to be pampered in a bit of luxury every now and then? A Maldives overwater villa would be the ultimate choice! Imagine waking up to blue waters and warm sunshine or spending the evenings on the deck of your villa looking out into the endless ocean by sunset. Yes, that's definitely worth every penny.
If you want a different experience, resorts like Reethi Faru Resort offer other options as well if you would like to try something else.

4

Stay up to date with local Covid-19 status

Covid-19 is not a virus that has been completely eradicated as yet, but it is being controlled with the introduction of vaccines. However, the necessary guidelines still need to be followed. In order to visit Maldives, you will have to apply online and fill out a Health Declaration Form while attaching the various medical reports. Within the resort you will have the freedom to enjoy your holiday mask-free which makes a holiday here in Maldives even more tempting!

5

Learn the Local Language

Learning the local language of the country you are going to visit will only enrich your experience further. Dhivehi is a lovely language that you will be able to catch onto easily. Saying a simple hello and thank you in the local language will help you built a wonderful relationship with the local staff working at the hotel and will make them feel appreciated too.
