Environmental evaluation and climate change management

Due to the increasing population and companies in our world, the consumption levels are increasing and environment is changing and getting polluted at an alarming rate.
Environmental Evaluation or Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) facilitates identification of potential impacts and development of mitigation measures to reduce significant adverse impacts and foster sustainable development. Each country has its own requirements on EIA for energy related projects.

Environmental Evaluation is carried out in order to assess the positive and negative influences that a proposed project can create in an environment. These influences are analysed through collecting primary and secondary data about the environmental conditions in that area, from the project site.

Number of crucial steps has to be followed during the EIA and it is very important that all these steps be completed appropriately to ensure the environmental integrity. EIA should be conducted by experts knowing the factors that affect the environment. Stakeholder consultations should be done at the earliest, when the project is proposed and should be presented with transparency. In general, EIA needs to be presented with reliable and authentic information, justifying the establishment of the project. Most of the projects have failed due to negligence of the above aspects. Project proponents are responsible for the preparation of EIA report with the help of external consultants.

Due to Climate change there may be unpredictable heatwaves, flood and droughts at frequent rates. Climate Change Management is implemented by various International organizations, which plays a vital role in mitigating climate change and preventing the frequent natural disasters to some extent. Climate Change Management is a vast area which includes Green House Gas (GHG) Accounting, Business Carbon Management, GHG Emission reduction, Carbon Footprint Offset, Carbon benchmarking, Carbon Compliance, Climate Change Policy, New Market Mechanism, Adaptation Advisory, Paris Alignment, Carbon Trading, Establishment of carbon Foundation. These services are provided by some of the International organizations to mitigate climate change adverse effects.

We cannot leave the responsibility of mitigating environment and climate change effects to organizations completely. It is the responsibility of every one of us to reduce our impact on environment so that societies will be made more resilient to changes.

Sustainable Development and Sustainability Reporting

Sustainable Development and Sustainability Reporting

Sustainable development is the idea that human societies must live and meet their needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Specifically, sustainable development is a way of organizing society so that it can exist in the long term.

Sustainability reporting and disclosure on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues is increasing globally. High-quality sustainability reports allow for: Business transformation and performance improvement at companies, by enabling investment in resilient business strategies that improve company performance.

Role of International sustainable development companies & Energy and Environment Companies in reducing Global Warming

Role of International sustainable development companies & Energy and Environment Companies in reducing Global Warming

Leading international companies are providing their support to sustainable development by making necessary improvements for battling the current pressing global warming *issue and *climate emergency.
Global warming is unequivocal across the globe. The climate change due to global warming, will have a wide impact on the environment and socio-economic sectors, including water resources, agriculture and food security, human health, terrestrial ecosystems, biodiversity and coastal zones.
To fight against climate change, the international community is taking action through mitigation and adaptation techniques. The climate change mitigation and adaptation are complementary approaches for reducing risks of climate change impacts over different time scales. These techniques looks similar, but they demonstrate very different things. Climate change mitigation *measures will avoid and/or reduce GHG emissions; whereas, the climate change adaptation techniques will take the right measures to reduce the negative effects on environment by making appropriate adjustments and changes.
Many Climate Change Events are conducted by International sustainable development companies to create awareness and implement various mitigation and adaptation techniques for reducing global warming.
The effective implementation of *
climate change mitigation and adaptation *measures will require a transformative energy and environmental policies, action plans and substantial financial resources to lead towards a *low carbon economy
. Currently, the countries with different capacities are facing various challenges in implementing the policies and action plans. However, in cooperation with the international communities, the countries are building their capacity, enabling resources and laying down foundation for a sustainable development.
The Energy and Environment Companies work together with International sustainable development companies to reduce the negative impact on environment and prevent climate change adverse effects. *Clean and Renewable Energy *Projects development is also one of the key areas they work on, as switching to renewable energy will reduce usage of fossil fuels which in turn will reduce carbon emission to a greater extent. County governments are also working along with these companies in implementing various mitigation and adaptation techniques in order to reduce global warming.

The impact of our lifestyle and behavior changes on carbon footprint reduction

The impact of our lifestyle and behavior changes on carbon footprint reduction

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges we are facing and right now we are actually on the edge of the environmental disaster. Hence its high time for us to realize that, not just industries but every individual on earth is responsible for carbon footprint reduction (CFP) in his/her daily life.

The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report emphasises that behaviour, lifestyle and cultural changes of the people have an important role in bringing climate change impacts under control. More developed the country is, more the per capita energy consumption and associated GHG emissions are. This happens due to increased usage of electric and electronic appliances such as air conditioners as well as usage of private cars as the mode of transport.

In today’s world, a lot of awareness must be created among the individuals about the ways to reduce their carbon footprints. For example, purchase of energy efficient air conditioner can reduce electricity consumption and carbon footprint. Similarly, the use of non-motorized transport or avoidance of transport as much as possible is another important approach to reduce greenhouse gas emission. It is interesting to note that the food habits too contribute to the climate change. Eating fresh foods as opposed to canned products are relatively less carbon emissive. In addition, switching off lights when not in use, using day light as much as possible and carpooling will also help in reducing CFP.

Above are just few simple guidelines which can be practiced in our day-to-day life for reducing CFP. Even though they look simple, when followed by many, they create a huge impact by making the world a much better place for all the species to live in. Also, we can leverage free carbon footprint calculator, play around by changing different options in order to understand how our daily lifestyle impacts on CO2 emission. So, get ready to make a small change which can prevent climate change!
