4th of July Treats

Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcakes

I'm making these with homemade red velvet cake (as opposed to the boxed variety) and topping them with blue candles and/or sprinkles instead of nuts. Perfect color scheme. Perfect concoction.

Honey Yogurt Berry Pops

Here's a healthier, but still delectable treat. Throw in some blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries, and you've got an Independence Day trifecta (and the honey helps, too).

Strawberry "Cake" Pops

Not a cake fan? Gluten free? Or do you just hate the idea of turning the oven on in the dead of summer? That's cool. Try these.

Watermelon Cake

My best friend loves frosting, loves watermelon, and hates cake. So we've decided to make this watermelon cake (in addition to the cupcakes) this year. The fruit is really just a vehicle for frosting, but hey, that's cool.

Blueberry, Strawberry, & Jicama Salsa

This looks like an awesome fruity salsa. It's on a treat list, because, well, I want it to be.

Fruit Cones

This is a great concept for those of you who want to skip the ice cream but still enjoy the summery festiveness that ice cream cones offer.

Tutti Fruitti Stuffed French Toast

4th of July breakfast anyone? If your answer wasn't a resounding "yes," please try again.

Baked Strawberry Donuts

I've never been a big donut person. But once in awhile I get the weirdest, most intense donut craving. If it happens to strike on the 4th, these may just do the trick. And for festive purposes, I'd add some blue sprinkles.

Grilled Blackberry, Strawberry, Basil and Brie Pizza Crisps

In case you like mixing savory with your sweet, try these crisps. Just be sure to send me an invitation to eat them with you.

Mini Berry Cream Pies

Here's a lighter recipe that will surely satisfy that sugar craving and leave your guests feeling happy. Nobody has to know that they're low-cal!
