Main reasons Why your Hot Water System Breaks Down

Because you use your hot water unit every day, it is like any other appliance that may require servicing and repair from time to time. The hot water tank itself is the source of the majority of leaks. If the tank is leaking, there is an internal problem, and one of the components has most likely sprung a leak causing water to leak out and pool slowly.

Nobody enjoys having to repair or replace a significant appliance in their home. When your hot water system malfunctions, there are some straightforward ways to figure out what’s wrong and fix it. Other times, you may need to obtain a replacement. If you notice your water not getting hot, there is a leakage, a foul odour or discolouration in the water, or strange sounds; these are all indications that your hot water system requires service.

Whether you need a new hot water system or simply want to replace the one you already have. There is no need to look any further! Hydro Plumbing Service is available to assist you. If you are unsure about which hot water system is best for you and your budget, give us a call, and we will walk you through the process of selecting the most convenient hot water system to meet your needs. 1

IN-LINE VALVE IS LOOSE OR DAMAGED

A water leak on top of your system is easily repaired, unlike a leak near the bottom of your water tank. A faulty in-line valve is a common cause of water tank leaks. This is a handle on top of the water tank that is designed to activate or deactivate the flow of water. To resolve this issue, tighten the nut that holds the ball or in-line valve in place. If the leak worsens after you tighten it, you’ll need to go to Hydro Plumbing Services and buy a new in-line valve for your water heater.

2

BROKEN PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE

Most water heaters include a pressure relief valve, which is designed to release pressure from the water tank when it becomes too high. If the valve on top of your water heater starts to leak, we recommend buying a new one at Hydro Plumbing Services.

3

THERE IS NO WARM WATER

A broken heating element is the most common cause of a lack of warm water if you have an electric water heater in your home. Your water heater has two heating elements that are responsible for heating the incoming water in the tank. When a heating element fails, you will have little to no hot water to use for showering, cleaning, or laundry.

4

INADEQUATE SUPPLY OF HOT WATER

Are you constantly running out of hot water? This problem could be the result of a cracked dip tube. This tube is designed to transport cold water to the base of your water tank, where it will be heated. When a crack or hole forms in the dip tube, the incoming supply of cold water may be released near the top or centre of your tank, as a result, the cold water on top of the tank will be directed to your home’s faucets and showers. This hot water heater issue can only be resolved by replacing your system’s dip tube. Because installing a new dip tube is a complicated process, we recommend contacting a certified technician for assistance.

5

WATER PRESSURE IS LOW

A faulty water heater is not always the cause of low water pressure. If you live in an older home with smaller water pipes, the water flow will be restricted before reaching our kitchen or bathroom skins. The only way to solve this water heater issue is to install new 34-inch water lines in your system. Calcium deposits in water pipes are another issue that can harm your water pressure.

6

DISCOLORATION OF WATER

Your house’s sink water should be clear. Do you have tainted water in your home? This is an indication of deterioration in your water heater’s water tank or anode rod. Fortunately, if detected early enough, this problem can be resolved. If your home’s water heater isn’t working properly, contact a local plumber like Hydro Plumbing Services to perform repairs or tune-ups. Your system’s anode rod can be easily removed and replaced by a licensed plumber Sydney or HVAC technician.
