Singapore despite being a small island state has a lot to offer its visitors. Here are some of the best things to do while vacationing in Singapore.

Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade

Marina Bay Promenade is a lively 3.5 km walkway with many attractions. Marina Centre, the Bayfront and Collyer Quay are a few to watch out for. The promenade has many beautiful fountains, free performances and even yoga sittings. Further attractions include Wonder-Full. The novel Helix Bridge and the ArtScience Museum. The building is styled in the shape of a lotus and has 21 art and science galleries. If none of this stirs your interest just relax along the waterfront to a magnificent sunset. Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is built over 250 hectares of land is found next to the Marina Reservoir. The park has three waterfront gardens. Bay South is the largest and stretches over 54 hectares and houses the most extensive glass greenhouse in the world. The two conservatories are stunning constructions, called the Flower Dome, and Cloud Forest. A Children's Garden organises adventure trails for children. Bay East stands at 32 hectares and has a boulevard bordering the Marina Reservoir with gorgeous glimpses of Singapore.

Explore Orchard Road

This 2.2 km road is famous for its high street brands, shopping malls, first-class restaurants, and luxury hotels. This road is named after the fruit orchards, pepper and nutmeg plantations that used to cover the path during the 1830s. The street showcases the glamorous side of Singapore; the road itself is alighted with decorations and makes for a pleasant walk and indeed is shopping heaven. The sale season, in particular, is a very popular time to visit Orchard Road. A large array of goods can be obtained for unbelievable prices! Ion Orchard is regarded as the most interesting shopping centre in Singapore. There are over 300 stores with labels such as Dior, Gucci, Prada, and Armani. In Ngee Ann City you can find the local preference Takashiyama Department store and Kinokuniya, the largest bookstore in Singapore. Lucky Plaza is the value hunter's preferred destination, where electronics, cameras, mobile phones, souvenirs can be bought at reduced prices.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is over 160 years old. According to TripAdvisor it is considered Asia's most visited park and is free from entry charges. The park has over 10,000 species of flora and fauna covering 82 hectares of land. The National Orchid Garden is possibly the most famous attraction but an entrance fee is needed. This area covers around 300 hectares and has over 1000 species of orchids and over 2000 hybrid varieties. There is a small tropical rainforest covering around 6 hectares, older than the place itself. Swan Lake, Eco Lake and Symphony Lake are located within park grounds. Concerts and events are held during weekends, a great place to relax in the evenings!

Sentosa Island

The island is located 15 minutes away from the city centre; it used to be a stronghold during the 19th century and became a military base during the Second World War. This island resort is packed with thrilling attractions, such as theme parks, casinos, forest adventures, and restaurants. The cable car trip to Sentosa is quite an attraction by itself! You can observe the famous Merlion of Singapore, an icon of Singapore! Climb the Tiger Sky Tower, the highest observation viewpoint in Singapore, and relax in the 3.2 km of coastline divided into three separate beaches.
