Wimbledon, 'pick-your-own', Pimms and cream teas ... it's definitely strawberry season. The grockles (tourists, don't you know) are descending on the South West in hordes, and cream teas will be consumed in their thousands. But let's not get involved in a heated debate about its origins and whether it should be the Cornish (jam first) or Devonshire (cream first) etiquette of consumption.

Hooray for Strawberry Season!! My favourite time of year! I know we can get strawberries pretty much all year round here, with berries being flown in from Africa and Spain, but . . . Let's be honest here though. They are not a touch on the flavour of a freshly picked home-grown English Strawberry.
