Peppermint crisp tart
Peppermint crisp tart is sinfully decadent and delicious. The heavier cream, caramel and cookies is offset with the cooling peppermint. Perfection.
3
Milk tart
Milk tart is a very old traditional Afrikaans pudding. With a custard-like consistency and a baked base, this is one to impress the folks with. The cinnamon also adds an interestingly excellent contribution to the tart.
4
Chicken potjie
Just as wonderful as South Africa's sweet treats, is their savoury meals. This chicken potjie is made on an open fire, and includes only healthy, wholesome ingredients. It is closely related to a slow-cooked stew, but a whole lot better.
5
Oxtail potjie
Just as good as the last, is the oxtail potjie. It is rich, gamey, and just all-around brilliant. Potatoes and red wine make a feature in this stew too.
6
Roosterkoek
Normally paired with a braai or one of the above potjies, roosterkoek is a fantastic traditional South African bread, made on the fire. It can also be eaten with apricot jam and cheese. However you enjoy it, it's sure to be memorable.

Vetkoek
Vetkoek is a traditional deep fried dough, generally eaten with a South African curry mince. It's not exactly a healthy recipe, but goodness it is tasty.
