Australia is a huge country and the smallest continent in the world with many unique things to do and see. Here are some places you should include on your next trip.

Shark Bay

Located in Western Australia in the Gascoyne region is the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shark Bay. The bay area spreads over 10,000 km and is home to a wide variety of marine life. The underwater grassy sea beds are the largest to be found anywhere in the world. This is also where the oldest living fossils, called 'Stromatolites' can be found. These beings are the oldest life forms on earth. There are dolphins and sharks as well as over 200 species of birds living close to the environs.

Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Australia, and a favourite among those who live in Sydney. The stunning coastline is a trendy spot and is filled with top-notch restaurant, cafes, and vintage shopping boutiques.
Locals love to hand out here, it is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, surfing and even cricket. Bondi is just 30 minutes away from the central bus station in Sydney.

Fraser Island

Head to Fraser Island on Queensland's southern coast for some canoeing, camping, sailing and living in the heart of nature. The island is just 120 km long, and 25 km in width, and boasts a natural rainforest cover that has grown in the sand. The island has a rich aboriginal past and largely remains untouched by modernity.

The Great Ocean Road

Drive through the southeastern coast in the state of Victoria, also known as the Great Ocean Road. This stretch of road, which lasts for about 243 kilometres is bound to be one of the best road trips you have ever had! The spectacular scenery will unfold before your eyes like magic and culminating in the majestic twelve apostles. These limestone rocks over 45 meters in height are over 20 million years old, and a result of soil erosion. Only eight of the twelve remain today, for an unforgettable sight, catch a glimpse of them towards the evening setting sun!

Port Arthur

The town of Port Arthur was built by the British in Tasmania, during the days of the Empire, in the 18th and 19th centuries. It used to be a penal colony and the most notorious British convicts were sent to serve their terms of exile. It is now an outdoor museum, with many artefacts and exhibition grounds to discover.

Uluru

Also known as Ayers Rock, it is an iconic symbol of Australia's natural beauty and aboriginal heritage. This massive stand stone rock sits at 1143 feet in height. The monolith is a sacred religious site for the indigenous Anangu people, many of their paintings can be seen around it.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

The harbour bridge and Sydney Opera House is synonymous with Australia. Originally known as Port Jackson, it has contributed significantly to the development of the state. The Opera House built in 1973 is one of the most recognized architectural sites in the world.
