5 of Dubai's Greatest Skyscrapers - For the architecture enthusiasts!

After the discovery of oil back in the 1960s, Dubai's newfound riches have been wisely invested in the tourism industry, propelling it to the top of the Middle East's leisure destinations today. And among the most common activities for tourists in Dubai is visiting the city's iconic buildings!

1

Dubai World Trade Centre

This building was referred to as the Sheik Rashid Tower in the past. After its inception in 1979, the Dubai World Trade Centre has played a critical role in the development of the tourism industry. The world trade centre, which is situated next to Sheik Zayed Road, hosts excellent exhibits and conferences. It is a 38-storey building complex that was once the United Arab Emirates' tallest structure from 1979 to 1999.

2

Burj Khalifa

This structure is unquestionably the best, and with good reason to support it! It reaches a height of over 2700 feet and has more than 160 storeys, which makes it the tallest building in the world. Excavation for this project started in 2004 and it was first opened to the public in 2010. It is located in the heart of Dubai, which adds more appeal! If you are looking for offers on hotel booking close to the city centre, then you can check out properties that belong to popular international chains such as Avani Hotels & Resorts.

3

The Burj Al Arab

When it was finished, this building's sail shape made it one of the most recognisable structures in the world. Construction of the island on which this building stands started in 1994 and took nearly two years to finish. The building itself took almost another 3 years to finish construction. This initiative hired over two thousand workers at the time, as well as over 250 designers from the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

4

Cayan Tower

You will do a double-take when you see the Cayan Tower for the first time. You will not be the only one either! This building has an eye-catching twisty spiral structure that will get everyone reaching for their phone to take photographs from all angles. It stands at 307 metres tall and has a unique helical design that keeps it apart from the rest of the waterfront buildings here! Make sure to take your cameras for some epic and incredibly Instagram worthy photos. It is indeed every photographer's dream destination!

5

The Jumeirah Emirates Towers

The lack of vibrant symmetry is a defining feature of Dubai architecture. This is not how urban architects and builders envision structures here. Another structure designed for the same reason is the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. This building has 2 towers, one of which is taller than the other. The outline of these 2 towers is an equilateral triangle. Furthermore, they are encased in silver aluminium panels with copper and silver reflective glass. To onlookers, it is a very attractive sight! Therefore, make sure that you pay a visit to this brilliant building to witness something astounding!
