North and South Male atolls have over 80 low-lying coral reefs. Some 13 of them are occupied and over 40 are island resorts. Every island can be taken as a snorkelling point, most of these are fringed with either house reefs, a lagoon, or a reef drop-off. All these are easily approachable from the beach. With clear blue waters, the Male Atolls are perfect for snorkelling, a multitude of tropical reef fish will be there to greet you. You may also get animate sightings of sharks, manta rays, and turtles. It is generally thought that these island resorts dispersed in the atolls provide the most excellent snorkelling spots in the Maldives.
Almost 50 resort islands in the North and South Male atolls have either a house reef or lagoon close by or both.
The private islands will only be available to guests, so you can snorkel just a few steps away from your room.
Baros Maldives, Angsana, and Vabbinfaru are all found in North Male Atoll. Each has a beautiful house reef and recognised by some as among the best islands in the atoll for snorkelling. But you can still snorkel throughout all the islands in the atoll.
