There's a lot of things Adelaide is known for, such as its churches, cultural heritage, the amazing food and of course, wine! It is also known to be the greenest city in Australia. There's plenty of great things to do in Adelaide, and here are a few!

Shopping

There's always plenty of time for shopping and the Rundle Mall in Adelaide is the ideal location to get started. The Rundle Mall is located in the heart of Adelaide, a mere 5 minute drive from iStay Precinct Adelaide, one of the well-known holiday apartments in Adelaide. It doesn't matter if you are simply going for window shopping, this mall is the best place to hang out and explore! Take a scroll through Australia's famous heritage Haigh's Chocolate Shop, trendy cafes, pubs with live music and amazing restaurants. No matter what you are after, it's like the Rundle Mall will have it!

North Terrace

Not too far from the city centre, the North Terrace is a pleasant walk that has a lot of attractions within a short distance. You start from the eastern side close to the botanical gardens and walk past the Migration Museum, South Australian Museum, South Australian University and the State Library. In fact, if you're interested in the history of Australia, the South Australian Museum has the largest aboriginal art gallery exhibition which showcases natural science, boasts a large historical collection and much more.
If you are interested in art, then a visit to the Art Gallery of South Australia is a must as it showcases nearly 40 thousand artworks and the entrance is free!

Adelaide Parklands

Adelaide boasts a whopping 29 different parklands, each unique in their own way. All gardens have a bitumen cycle and a walking path, and you're sure to find a favourite soon. This is a great way to relax and explore Adelaide, and gives you the breather that you need! To view the Botanic Gardens, Adelaide Gaol and Bonython Park – you must take the Parklands trail. The largest hills-to-coast park in Australia is the River Torrens Linear Park, which takes you from Tea Tree Plaza to the north of the city to Henley Beach.

Adelaide Botanic Gardens

Located on the eastern end of the North Terrace, the entrance to the Botanic gardens is free. This location is worth seeing as is great for a break from the buzz of the city. There's also free walking tours at 10.30 am!

Himeji Gardens

Do not miss out on a stroll through the charmingly unique Himeji Gardens, which is in the southern part of Adelaide and was established in 1982, to seal the sister partnership between Adelaide and the heritage city of Himeji.
The garden possesses features of Japanese culture, such as the Senzui with lake and water, and the Kare Senzui, with rocks and dry to celebrate nature's beauty! It is a truly special experience to walk through the 13 spots of the Japanese Himeji Gardens.
