Adam's Peak is a mountain in central Sri Lanka situated in a diverse biological site. The 2,243m (7,359ft) climb is a common Buddhist pilgrimage trail. It is said that an image of Buddha's footprint can be found near the top. The climb takes between 2 to 4 hours. You must try and climb early morning to arrive at the summit at dawn for a spectacular sunrise. At 2243 metres, Adam's Peak is Sri Lanka's 4th tallest mountain. Adam's Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is a popular pilgrimage destination in Sri Lanka. There are no mountains of similar scale in the area of Adam's Peak, which is entirely surrounded by forested hills. Since 2011, the Adams Peak, Horton Plains, and the Knuckles Mountain Range have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
