From experience in website building I settled the best SSL Providers in this list. These can include CAs but I dont focus on them as their products also are found on the shops of the other partners. My evaluating metrics focus on the service the SSL Provider overall offers, its quality and of course the ratio of price-performance - wich will be highly interesting when switching to the free alternatives like cloudflare e.g. But lets rock in:
PSW Group offers a good choice of SSL Service and from my experience a great support. The products have the best price-performance ratio wich is not absolutely objective to claim as most of my sites had been using their products from the beginning (I have no contract with them, don't fear). As I grew up with PSW Group I never found any protection issues, no flaw in encryption. The best thing about their portfolio is the variety of multidomain and singledomain licenses. And PSW offers a great certificate management, very userfriendly.
Okay well we all knew this boy makes it on the list, but the little orange cloud simply cant be denied when it comes to price-performance comparisons - I mean it's in its core functions totally free and the enterprise solutions are also great. In the free version you can choose a standard ssl certificate, not the green lock most of you know from some shops. So they cant compete with professional code signing and SSL CAs like PSW Group or IONOS but the functionality on the different levels are awesome. Go have a look yourself, I will stick to the SSL features here, but the Analytics in the heavily UX-optimised Cloudflare-Dashboard are amazing.
Another german provider - to conclude IONOS marks a reputation similar to "Telekom" in the SSL World but that comes with its price. Starting from a monthy price of three € per month, I can't get confident with their services to be honest.
Digicert ist in my opinion solely a product range for enterprises. They are very expensive but offer a great support. Also they offer a great and easy to use customizer/configurator to help you find the perfect certificate. Jump in and test it yourself.
This provider gets you good features and its easy to set up, minute-fast deliverance of SSL certificates. Also the high function protection is one of the inexpensived I've seen yet. I got this site in my recommendations, but never had the chance to fully test it.
