Singapore has long been a place that was the hub to which millions of tourists and businesses would flock to. With the massive standards of development that have been set, it is the epitome of a well-organized nation with a lot to offer its visitors!

More than just one island

A little-known fact about Singapore is that it is not one solitary island. It is the central city of an array of 64 other islands that are just offshore from the main island. The more well-known of these islands are the Sentosa Islands but they also include St. Johns Island and the Sisters Island. This is brilliant because this just means that visitors have a lot more fun to experience during their visits!

2

Experience the first night-time zoo in the world

It is not very often that visiting zoos are a nocturnal activity. In Singapore however, since 1994, the world's very first night-time zoo has been operating. With close to 35 hectares of land providing a home to over a thousand animals, the animals are visibly active for the viewing pleasure of visitors.
Just jump on a 40-minute tram ride and you will be able to take the best attractions at the park. Do not forget to check out the many walking trails available at the zoo as well!

3

Get your share of manmade waterfalls

While waterfalls are certainly a gift of nature that fills onlookers with awe and wonder, Singapore has managed to grab the reins over this wonderful majesty and develop its brand of waterfalls.
In a sense, Singapore is the pioneer of the world's first man-made waterfall. They made their initial foray into space by constructing a waterfall at the Jurong Bird Park. Even if you are staying at a city hotel such as Grand Park City Hall, make sure you make time to visit this 30-metre-tall waterfall. It is considered to this date, to be the highest waterfall in an aviary.

4

Learn to speak "Singlish"

If you are roaming around the city wondering where to stay for your weekend in Singapore, do not hesitate to speak to someone around you. Many Singaporeans can converse fluently in English and may even through in a little Singlish as well. If you were to ask what the best luxury hotel in Singapore is, they will certainly be able to run you through their picks!

5

Enjoy the greenery

If you are a fan of nature, then you are in the best place in the world to experience what happens when urban planning meets the respect for nature that is so sorely missed in many other cities. Easily considered to be one of the greenest cities in the world, Singapore has successfully amalgamated lush greenery into its world-class infrastructure.
It is amazing to note that Singapore can claim that close to 50% of its landmass is filled with a green cover. This provides space for numerous parks and pockets of gardens that help people refresh their minds and get some fresh air.
