Dev Anand starred in more than 104 films as the protagonist. He is perhaps the only actor who acted in more than six decades of Indian cinema. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002 for his contribution to Indian cinema.
Being the highest paid actor for an entire decade is a feat which many few actors have managed in Bollywood. Dev Anand debuted in 1946 and went on to act and make films for the next six decades till his death in 2011. Dev Anand's last film was Chargesheet which he produced and directed.
