Managing time

Melbourne has a lot of things to see and do, so managing time is important. Not all bars and restaurants stay open for too long, so there are certain parts of the city that close earlier than the others – which is where time management comes in! Do not expect any shops to be open on Sundays and several outlets shut pretty early Monday – Wednesday. Your best bet for that late-night searching would be Friday Nights, where several outlets are open till 9pm. Due to this reason, managing time when in Melbourne is crucial!

Packing clothes

A pro tip before visiting Melbourne is to pack for 'four seasons'! Summer continues from December to February, fall from march to May, winter from June to August and spring from September to November. With these climates in mind, do your packing as necessary. The weather in Melbourne changes immensely within a day and it is not uncommon to feel all four seasons within 24 hours! Bring a coat, boots and layers – this way you know you're ready if the weather changes!

Transportation

The great thing about Melbourne is that it has an intensive transport system that consists of trains, trams, buses and taxis! The public buses within the town give over three hundred totally different routes and frequent services which is an excellent way to get around! This is a contactless ticketing system for Melbourne's transport network and you'll be able to purchase them at machines and a few booths at different train stations, 7-elevens and Tattersall's outlets. Once your purchase the card, you need to choose from Myki money or Myki pass, that is a set quantity of cash for a collection of days of unlimited travel. If you are confused about how to use the card, most locals are more than willing to help you out!

All travel comes with a risk, so it is completely your responsibility to be vary of your surroundings and take the necessary precautions. In huddled spcaes, ensure you know what is happening around you. Pickpockets and thieves are everywhere, so to make sure you are not a target, keep your wallets and purses tucked away. Do not carry huge amounts of money with you.
