5 Cascading waterfalls on the Sunshine Coast – Serene, spectacular, and sublime!

Found north of Queensland is the Sunshine Coast which is an inviting section that must be explored owing to its outstanding leisure facilities. The region is blessed with beautiful waterfalls to behold.

Kondalilla Falls

Translating to "rushing waters" from the Aboriginal word "Kondalilla," and that too for good reason as visitors to Kondalilla Falls will be greeted by a 90-meter tall cascade which certainly holds its own as a top-notch attraction on the Sunshine Coast. A good way to experience all that Kondalilla has in store for the ardent vacationer is to take on the challenge of voyaging through the Kondalilla Falls Circuit; a journey that will have you covering some 4.7 km of rough terrain which entwines itself with sweeping views of lush greenery around you. Thick forests that comprise stretches of eucalypt will be the prelude to the mesmeric rock pool base of these Falls where time can be spent scouring the nearby environs whilst dipping one's toes in its cooling waters.

Booloumbra Falls

As you encroach upon Conondale National Park and begin combing parts of the said attraction, scenes of rainforests and creeks will soon flow into your focus. These views will pleasantly inform the curious globetrotter in you that you are on the right path towards discovering Booloumbra Falls. As opposed to the former, moving through the Park can be done via a 4-wheel drive vehicle which certainly adds another layer of excitement into the scheme of things. Once you enter Booloumbra Falls Park, the Falls are a mere 2km trek away. Added to the serenity which shrouds the attraction is the fact that the option of camping is also provided here.

Gardners Falls

Accessing Gardners Falls which is one of the more popular areas to explore on the Coast in the event nature & outdoors are a top priority for you can be done so reaching the town of Maleny. From here, venture out by vehicle to Obi Obi Creek, and from there onwards, you will fill find a 300-meter path that will lead you past rock pools and rapids before affording you a glimpse of what lies ahead. The pools created as a result of the Falls are ideal to splash about for hours on end as both small and large pools make up this natural attraction. The surrounding grass banks can also be looked at should you want to enjoy a picnic with loved ones whilst surrounded by the peace and quiet of thriving jungle habitat.

Wappa Falls

If you're the type of traveller who seeks out sights and sounds and is more a fan of the journey than the destination itself, then taking on the trail leading to Wappa Falls would fit in perfectly. Found 5 minutes from Yandina, Wappa Falls is in fact made up of rock pools and formations which are nourished by the waters of the South Maroochy River that culminate within a small gorge. As a word of advice, you will need your best pair of hiking boots as the environs tend to be slippery.

Buderim Serenity Falls

Also termed "Serenity Falls," vacationers to the region and those staying at properties such as Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort which is one of the best Sunshine Coast resorts worth being at would find such natural attractions a good investment of their time. Found within Buderim Forest Park, these Falls are part of an inviting 45-hectare oasis that can be accessed by crossing the magnificent wooden arch bridge. Thereafter, having reached Quorn Close; visitors will be confronted with having to navigate across rocks en route to reaching the lower creeks of Buderim Serenity Falls from where the forest canopy will more or less engulf your every sense.
