Blake Group works closely in conjunction with some of the UK’s leading Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers and Contractors. Our Fabrications Division is well-positioned to fulfil structural steel developments from large-scale construction projects to small residential architectural projects.

Barclay House was officially opened by The Queen in 1999 and named after the original owners the Barclay Brothers. Designed by leading Scottish practice CDA Architects, the building is a combination of internal open-plan modernistic steel and glass internal floors and a classic sandstone exterior.

Blake Group supported the development with stairs, walkways, glass balustrades and architectural metalwork features.

Working closely with the main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, Blake Group supported the construction of the new City of Glasgow College Riverside Campus with various steelworks. From balustrades and railings to roofing protection, the team ensured on-time on-budget delivery of the key architectural steel features.
