Top 05 Things to do in Pattaya – Beyond the Biases!

A vibrant night-life is perhaps the most convincing factor that could draw to you to the city of Pattaya, but this is not by any means all that this city is about, and we are here to tell you everything else there is to this marvellous city!

1

Wind down at the Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden

Everybody likes flowers and the greenery – in varying degrees of course and there is nothing you can say to us to make us re-think that! Why not look out for the flowers and greens in Pattaya too? Laid over 2.4 km2, Pattaya's Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical garden surely has some of the most beautiful flowers in all of the world. These excellently landscaped gardens are a perfectionist's favourite and have over time brought upon the city the glory of numerous awards for its immaculate design – and expectedly so do the same in the future considering all the effort that goes into manicuring this garden! In addition to some of the most beautiful flowers, the garden also features a special collection of over 670 species of orchids and even an elephant show!

Visit the Pattaya Floating Market

Although Thailand is famous for quite a few floating markets scattered across the country, there is just something about the Pattaya floating market that sets is completely apart. Its uniqueness buds from the sense of tribute it pays to the origins of its goods – meaning the market is split into four regions, each named after the four main regions of Thailand (the North, the Northeast, the South, and the Central) and carrying products representing the each of their respective regions. The fact that some of its stalls are not in reality floating does not seem to harm the spirit too much – the charm is all the same about the Pattaya floating Market. The best way to experience it is by hiring a small boat and paddling across to witness everything there is to offer.

3

Go Ziplining at the Flight of the Gibbon

Not smack in the middle of Pattaya, but halfway between there and Bangkok is the Flights of the Gibbon – a fully-rounded adventure for all of the family to enjoy! The course is approximately three kilometres long and consists of two zip-lines and two abseiling stations.

4

Spend a day at Koh Lan

The island of Koh Lan sits approximately seven kilometres away from Pattaya and has several boats going between the two every day and makes for the perfect day-adventure for wandering travellers. It is quite a small island but does have six beaches to see, each with its own sense of personality. It is one of the many interesting items to cross off your Pattaya things to-do list! Most hotels of Thailand including those such as Avani Pattaya Resort do not hold back with recommending a visit to Koh Lan for some genuine time off!

Pattaya Elephant Jungle Sanctuary

One of the most exciting things for travellers to do when visiting Thailand is to get a close-up look at its elephants. Without doubt, therefore, most of Thailand's attractions have an elephant-ride waiting to happen for you. Although many travellers are increasingly becoming more and more concerned about the ethical aspect of elephant riding, if you are beyond eager to try it out at least once in life, we would recommend opting for an ethical choice such as Pattaya Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.
