Tipped to be one of Asia's top retail destinations, it should come as no surprise that Singapore is home to some of the biggest malls in the region. Here's a rundown of the Lion City's top shopping malls and department stores.

Ngee Ann City

Occupying pride of place in Takashimaya, Ngee Ann City is one of the most fashionable shopping malls located down Singapore's Orchard Road. Spread out across seven floors, there are more than 130 shops located within this mall which won the coveted Best Shopping Mall in Singapore Award five years in a row. Home to the largest bookshop in Singapore and the second largest in all of Southeast Asia, some of the high fashion brands with signature outlets at the mall include Chanel, Zara, Christian Dior, Mango and Burberry.

IMM Mall

Officially called The International Merchandising Mart Mall, the IMM Mall is a bargain hunter's dream come true in the Lion City. Housed in a massive warehouse compound that's spread out over 5 floors, this mega mall for budget shoppers provides big discounts on consumer items all year round. Containing no less than 90 retail outlets, this mall is also located near JCube and Westgate which are equally popular malls in Singapore.

Vivo City

Another bargain hotspot in Singapore, Vivo City is sprawled across seven levels and contains some of the island's best lifestyle and retail stores. As the largest shopping mall in all of the country, the sheer variety of fashion brands occupying the mammoth retail space is enough to spend one's head spinning. Expect to find everything from Charles & Keith and H&M outlets to Pedro and G2000 stores at this mall which has secured the Asia One People's Choice Award for an impressive 9 years.

Suntec City Mall

Tourists in search of accessories, electronic wares, books and clothes will find no better option that the one-stop shopping hub known as the Suntec City Mall. This massive compound is divided in to 4 sections named The Galleria, The Tropics, The Fountain Terrace and The Tropics so visitors know what to expect when they walk through these zones designed according to Feng Shui principles. The Entertainment Centre which is found in the East Wing of the mall is where most travellers head to due to the large number of technology and electronic shops.

Ranked among Asia's biggest malls, ION Orchard has become one of the most visited highlights on Orchard Road since it first opened its doors to the public.
