The Temple of a Million Beers or Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew, located in Si Kaew, was constructed with 1.5 million used beer bottles. This project to eradicate pollution by popularising recycling was started by the temple's monks, who used 100 bottles to line one wall. However, things soon escalated, and beer bottles were lining the temples towers, walls, sleeping quarters, as well as washrooms!
