The Lost City of Ubar

This city and its stories are surrounded by legends and mysteries, which makes it an interesting visit. The most common story is that Ubar was a very rich city that was once famous for its profitable frankincense trade and a huge sandstorm buried the entire city. Ever since, explorers have made it their job to travel to southern Oman, looking for the lost city. The city is hidden deep inside of Al Rub Al Khali desert, and has unique architectural ruins.

Masirah Island

The largest island in the whole of Oman, Masirah Island is located on the eastern coast. The island is filled with great natural spots to explore such as Jabal Madrub, Ras Abu Rasas and Jabal Suwayr. This island consists of many villages and is a must visit during your time in Oman!

Bilad Sayt

Visitors have to use 4 wheel cars to enter this rocky mountain village which is located in the Northeastern side of Al Hajar Mountain area. The beauty of the village is that it lies in the middle of Wadi Al Sahtan, Wadi Bani Awf and Al Hamra.

Musandam Peninsula

Musandam is one of Oman's least visited parts but is one of the most beautiful areas. Musandam is completely cut off from the rest of the country by the surrounding UAE. A real highlight of Musandam is the dhow cruises, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and the clear waters which is home to dolphins and other special sea creatures. The coastline is famous for its khors, fjord like inlets.

Ruins of Tanuf

Located in between two famous cities, Nizwa and Bahla it is known to be the village where Omani bottled water comes from. Aside from its pure water, the village of Tanuf has historical ruins of its ancient lost city which was abandoned during the war in 1950. Walking through this village is unlike any other walk-in Oman as you walk through a long history, architectural beauty and nature.

The Wakan village is yet another mountain village located 2000 km above sea level and is a part of northern Oman. For gorgeous views overlooking several valleys and mountains, Wakan village is ideal.
