A windshield only serves one purpose: to protect an automobile driver from winds, weather and insects. But does it have to be that way? Surely there are other uses for a windshield other than simply wind protection. Experimenting with windshields may bring future windshield repair, but the possibilities are endless!
A windshield sled would revolutionize the classic toboggan. Being able to see the snow rush underneath your behind while flying down a Utah mountain would amplify the experience; it would be similar to a Caribbean tour boat with a window on the bottom to see all the fish. Just be careful about those Utah pine trees, for hitting one of those will damage the windshield beyond repair.
Using your windshield as a coffee table would be both a practical and artistic approach to contemporary home decorating. If anyone asks, describe it as a piece of “modern art” to reflect Utah's industrial strength and financially-minded collective conscious. Just don't slam the remote on it too hard, or else it will need repair.
The gourmet will never use a standard griddle again after they cook their first meal on the surface of a brand new windshield. The smooth surface allows for thorough yet effortless cooking of flapjacks, bacon, or a Utah buffalo burger. It will at least serve as a temporary surface while the real grill is being repaired.
Setting up several windshields into a playpen will provide the “open enclosure” effect for the child. While plastic cages or bars make them feel incarcerated, a windshield playpen will allow them to see everywhere around them, making them feel like people rather than prisoners.
Windshield art is yet to be truly discovered. An artist can make a series of cracks and rock chips to create a true masterpiece entitled “Wolf on the Summit” or “Belligerence Behooveth” or whatever artists name their pieces nowadays.
