How to Live and Eat Like a Local in Mostviertel Austria

· by · Going local in Mostviertel, Lower Austria involves staying in speciality hotel rooms, eating scrumptious desserts and drinking Schnapps. Ready? Much to my surprise J.P. So no one was more surprised than me when I actually really enjoyed my visit to the Atlantic Wall in Ostend, Belgium! The Atlantic Wall is ranked the #1 attraction of Things to Do in Ostend on TripAdvisor.com.

Are you brave enough to do a via ferrata? First, let me explain, since you may never have heard of one. I hadn't until I moved to Germany. Also called a When I had the chance to do a via ferrata in Vallcebre, Catalunya, I jumped at the chance.

Hechtsee in Fall

by Laurel Last weekend we went hiking around the Hechtsee (Hecht Lake) in Austria. It's a popular destination for families and has a restaurant/cafe overlooking the lake. The fall colors were on full display with the trees seemingly competing each other for the "Most Colorful Award", reminding me of why fall is my favorite time of year to hike and to be in nature.
