I have a love hate relationship with conferences. They take a lot of time, resources, and energy for both the creators and the attendees. After most conferences, I feel like I have more to do and less time to do it. Still, I love the energy, the people, the ideas, the creativity, the conversations, the travel, and the inspiration.
I've never felt more exposed in all of my life. Henry V was the very last play I ever produced before the world convinced me that I had to grow up and get a real job. I remember that season well. I remember every line, every scene change.
David and I had been tossing around an idea for an episode about what you could learn about branding from Kim Kardashian. As you know, we both love our pop culture. So for David, any opportunity to leverage celebrity gossip was one he couldn't and wouldn't pass up.
I've just spent the past two days at the most amazing conference organized by AJ & Melissa Leon. I first met AJ & Melissa nearly 5 years ago, when they were just starting out on their Misfit journey. I'm so happy that I was able to be part of this inaugural Misfit Conference with them.

The other half of the story is the amazing community that AJ & Melissa brought together in Fargo, North Dakota. It's safe to say that Misfit Conf was the best conference I've ever been to (and I've been to quite a few). Not only were my fellow speakers amazing and inspiring people, but so were the attendees, and the folks behind the conference.
I recently attended a little conference in Fargo, North Dakota with 70 misfits - artists, entrepreneurs, minimalists, maximalists, and dreamers. MisfitConf: Fargo was a rallying point for many, including myself. We left the midwest ready to take on the world. We left with new best friends and co-consipirators.
How to even begin to tell this story? I will start it back in time: March 9, 2011. It was an ordinary day. I was in my cubicle, at work, in Santa Clara, CA. I was still employed at the time as a Customer Service Representative for a Semiconductor company.
