6 Things to Do in Seychelles – Enjoy the beaches, markets, and many more!

Although Seychelles is often known as a great honeymoon destination, it's also a nation with many factors of pride. The best of nature and culture is here in Seychelles and you are surely going to fall in love with many of the experiences it offers.

1

Shop like a local at a local market

Stop by and ask a local about the best market to visit in Seychelles, and the answer you'll surely get is 'Sir Selwyn Selwyn Clarke Market'. This popular market is also called the Victoria Market. It's a place where both old and modern aspects of lifestyles meet. Head to this market in the morning and collect souvenirs, flavoured oils, and sarongs for you. If you've got time, you may also visit the other markets such as Victoria Bazaar and the Bazar Labrin.

2

Explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site

If you are holidaying at one of the all-inclusive resorts in Seychelles the likes of Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas, you have the perfect chance to visit one of the World Heritage Sites as declared by UNESCO. It's none other than the Vallee de Mai which is an ancient forest known for cultivating Coco de Mer Palms (a palm species endemic to Seychelles). There are more than 4000 trees for you to observe, and meet a local to know more information about these trees and their fruits.

3

Explore Victoria

Victoria- it's one of the smallest capital cities in the world. Located on Mahe Island, this capital city will not of course be the most elegant and the developed one you'll ever see, but still, it has its own charm. In addition to its markets, you should probably visit its National Museum of History. Do not forget to adore its main highlight, the silver-painted clock tower too!

4

Go island-hopping

When there are diverse islands with different vibes, why will you stay on one and limit your experiences? Go island-hopping and all you need to do is to pick a boat company that matches your requirements. If you have time (and of course money!) you can visit Cousin Island, St. Pierre and the Curieuse Island.

5

Visit its many beaches

Needless to say, Seychelles has some of the best beaches on this earth! You may visit Anse Georgette, Anse Lazio, Anse Source, Petite Anse, Anse Intendance, Beau Vallon located in different parts. Most of the beaches have their nearby restaurants, so spending one day by a beach will not at all be a problem when in Seychelles.

6

Watch how the baby Hawksbill sea turtles head to the sea

If you decide to visit Cousin Island, Bird Island, or the North Island, you will most probably be lucky enough to witness this wonderful phenomenon. These beaches offer the perfect environments for Hawksbill sea turtles to lay eggs, and each female creature lays up to 1000 eggs annually when it's the season. This will of course be an experience that you won't be able to have in any other destination!
