The Maldives is undoubtedly one of the best travel destinations in Asia and there are so many water sports to try, islands to explore and also some amazing dishes to try from the Maldivian cuisine.



The most delightful street food you will come across in the Maldives is Gulha. This is sometimes considered an appetiser but a famous dish that can be seen in many households. These golden brown snacks are made with fish, coconut, onions and chillies mixed with salt and pepper and then deep fried with a thick batter.


Mas Huni

Mas Huni is a popular dish that can be seen at breakfast in the Maldives. It's made with shredded fish, scraped coconut and chopped onions mixed together and made into something white is almost like a paste. Mas Huni is generally eaten with flatbread or roti known as Roshi.

Saagu Bondibai

Saagu Bondibai is the most popular dessert in the Maldives and available in many hotels and resorts such as Milaidhoo Island Maldives. This vegetarian dessert is made by boiling sage seeds and then adding coconut milk and condensed milk into it. During the process vanilla or rose, flavour is added along with cardamom to give it a sweet and spicy flavour.

Boshi Mashuni
