5 Packing Lists for Your Vietnam Journey – Essential Items

Vietnam is a great destination to travel and it's considered a safe place as well. However, be sure to sign up for travel insurance just like you would when travelling to any other country. That being said, here are some other things that you should take with you on your journey in Vietnam.

1

Pre-Flight Packing List

Do you know what's really annoying? – leaving your home with all your luggage, arriving at the airport on time, and being denied boarding. If you don't want to go through this experience, then it's better to double-check if you've packed everything you need to get on that plane. Make sure you've got your passport with you and check if it's still valid (this should be done before your travel date, of course). And if you're hoping to get a Vietnam visa on arrival, you should have two passport-sized photos with you and also the exact amount in US Dollars as there aren't any exchange facilities inside the immigration facility. Also, make sure you take a printout of your boarding pass (or have a copy on your mobile) to produce when requested.

2

Packing List for Electronics

If you're just hoping to capture a few lovely photographs to show your loved ones back home, a phone along with a water-proof cover might just be sufficient. However, if you're a vlogger, you will have to pack more than that. Apart from your laptop, phone, wireless headphone, and their chargers make sure you pack your camera along with the lenses plus a small travel-sized tripod to keep away from capturing shaky footage. Don't forget to pack additional SD cards in case your devices run out of storage. And if you're hoping to cover a wider area, a GoPro would also be ideal.

3

Packing List for Accessories

It is important to pack the essentials with you – at the same time, it is important to NOT pack the whole house in your bag. The list of essentials for Vietnam can include a plug converter (two-prong plugs are common in Vietnam), padlocks and dry bags to keep your belongings safe and dry, and a pair of sunglasses and microfibre travel towel to be used when you're holidaying at one of the Vietnam beach resorts. Also, consider using packing cubes to conveniently arrange the accessories so that you wouldn't have to rummage through your bags every time you need something.

4

Packing List for Toiletries

Choosing toiletries to take with you on your travels makes you pretty conflicted, especially if you're someone who pampers yourself daily. However, do keep in mind that there are products that you can easily purchase in Vietnam – and for a really good price too! You'd also have complimentary shower products at your hotel in Vietnam such as Avani Quy Nhon Resort. So just make sure that you pack your regular toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, toner, moisturiser – if you're a makeup person, try to limit the products you take with you.

5

Medications and Health Kit

Take time to create your own health kit to be used during your holiday in Vietnam. Include prescription medication (if any) and other preventive medication such as Advil, headache tablets, Vitamin C, and stomach medication. Also, band-aids and gauze pads will be useful, especially if you're planning on indulging in adventure activities.
