South and Central Vietnam was once part of the Champa Dynasty, home to the Cham people from the 2nd to the 15th centuries. These people erected many a temple within the Binh Dinh province to which Quy Nhon belongs. Hence, a visit to the Banh It Towers will be quite an experience. Cham architecture, which looks similar to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, is a marvellous amalgamation of stone and brickwork. These towers are amongst Vietnam's best-preserved architecture and are only 16kms from the Quy Nhon city centre. Located within the centre of town, Quy Nhon Beach is the best place to relax and rejuvenate. Go there to cool down and relax. Head over to the Ghenh Range Hill on the southern end of Quy Nhon Beach; there you can enjoy the beauty of a quiet oasis. The name Stone Egg is derived from the fact the beach is made up of no sand but smooth round stones, which resemble giant eggs. One of the cleanest beaches in Quy Nhon, swimming at Ky Co Beach is recommended. The sea is so beautiful there it's known as Vietnam's Maldives. The beach is popular, hence, its crowded and speedboats bring in visitors constantly. However, the white sand beaches and glistening waters are hard to resist. Do take along the snorkelling gear!
