In commemoration of the 30th year of the Sultan's rule, the largest among the Grand Mosques in Oman was unveiled in 2001. The mosque is known as the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque named after the honoured Sultan and is one of the most beautiful mosques to have been ever built. It is able to accommodate 20,000 worshippers at once and also has a public library.
When you are in Muscat visiting the Royal Opera House is definitely on the list of things to do in Muscat as it is a stunning building as well as a historically important one. This building is a work of art and is known to be one of a kind opera house which is unique to the whole country and it hosts some of the most prestigious international events during different times of the year.
